You will be able to potentially get assistance for your premiums starting January of 2014.
People will be able to search all their options in a very user-friendly format. A person can do all of this themselves or they can use an agent. There is no extra cost to use an agent to assist.
People will be guaranteed coverage without pre-existing conditions and many other improvements. The enrollment period starts October, 2014.
A person does not 'have' to use the exchange to purchase insurance. But, a person can only get financial help through the exchange.
